This Privacy Policy describes how Ridley Technologies, Inc. (“Ridley,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) processes personal information that we collect through our digital or online properties or services that link to this Privacy Policy (including as applicable, our website, mobile applications, web application, electronic communications, or social media pages) as well as our marketing activities and other activities described in this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”).

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, fill out forms, request support, communicate with us, or interact with any tools or chat experiences we provide. This may include:

  • Contact data, such as your first and last name, alias, signature, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
  • Property details, such as preferences, property records, property address, and any other information you choose to provide about your property.
  • Sales data, such as offers received from referred third parties, anticipated closing date, and closing status.
  • Demographic data, such as your city, state, country of residence, postal code, gender, physical characteristics, income or income range, economic standing, and age.
  • Profile data, such as account name, the username and password that you may set to establish an online account on the Service, biographical details, job title, avatar, photograph or picture, date of birth, interests, preferences, and any additional information you choose to add to your account profile.
  • Payment data needed to complete transactions, including payment card information or bank account number. We use a third-party vendor to directly collect and process your payment card information, as described further below.
  • Communications data based on our exchanges with you, including when you contact us through the Service, communicate with us via email, phone, chat features, social media, or otherwise.
  • Marketing data, such as your preferences for receiving our marketing communications and details about your engagement with them.
  • User-generated content data, such as any communications you send to other users through the Service as well as your comments, reviews, questions, relationships to other users, messages, photos, music, videos, works of authorship, activations, and other content or information that you generate, transmit, or otherwise make available on the Service, including associated metadata. Metadata includes information on how, when, where and by whom a piece of content was collected and how that content has been formatted or edited. Metadata also includes information that users can add or can have added to their content, such as keywords, geographical or location information, and other similar data.
  • Other data not specifically listed here, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

Data about others. We may offer features that help users invite their contacts to use the Service, and we may collect contact details about these invitees so we can deliver their invitations. Please do not refer someone to us or share their contact details with us unless you have their permission to do so.

Third-party sources. We may combine personal information we receive from you with personal information of the kinds identified above that we obtain from other sources, such as:

  • Public sources, such as credit bureaus, government agencies, public records, publicly accessible social media profiles, and other publicly available sources.
  • Data providers, such as information services, data licensors/brokers, lead generators and cooperative databases.
  • Service providers that provide services on our behalf or help us operate the Service or our business.
  • Partners, such as resellers, referral partners, joint marketing partners, and event co-sponsors.
  • Ad networks
  • Data analytics providers
  • Social media platforms

Automatic data collection. We, our service providers, and our advertising partners may collect certain information automatically when you use our Services, including:

  • Device data, such as your device type, operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, browser type, IP address, general location data (such as city, state, or geographic area), mobile device carrier, radio/network information (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE, 3G), and unique identifiers collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies (including identifiers used for advertising purposes).
  • Location data, which may be approximate (for example, as inferred from network data or device settings) or precise (if and when you authorize the Service to access your device's location).
  • Communication interaction data such as your interactions with our email, text, chat or other communications (e.g., whether you open and/or forward emails) – we may do this through use of pixel tags (which are also known as clear GIFs), which may be embedded invisibly in our emails enabling us to detect if you have opened or forwarded a message.
  • Online activity data, such as pages or screens you viewed, search history, how long you spent on a page or screen, the website you visited before browsing to the Service, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times and duration of access, and whether you have opened our emails or clicked links within them.

If you access Ridley through third-party platforms or integrations (such as social media platforms), we may collect information from those services subject to your permissions.

How We Use Your Information

We may use your information for the following purposes or as otherwise described at the time of collection:

Service delivery and operations. We may use your personal information to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, and improve our Services;
  • personalize your user experience, including remembering the devices from which you have previously logged in and remembering your selections and preferences as you navigate the Service;
  • deliver customer support and respond to inquiries;
  • communicate with you about the Service, including by sending administrative messages and updates;
  • establish and maintain your user profile on the Service;
  • process your requests, orders and transactions;
  • understand your needs and interests, and personalize your experience with the Service and our communications;
  • provide support for the Service, and respond to your requests, questions and feedback;
  • facilitate your invitations to friends you invite to join the Service;
  • enable security features of the Service;
  • to collect and share user testimonials; and
  • fraud prevention and security.

Research and development. We may use your personal information for research and development purposes, including to develop, analyze and improve our products and services, including to train our AI models. As part of these activities, we may create aggregated, de-identified or other anonymous data from personal information. We may use this anonymous or de-identified data and share it with third parties for any lawful business purposes. We do not attempt to reidentify deidentified information derived from personal information, except for the purpose of testing whether our deidentification processes comply with applicable law.

Marketing and advertising. We and our third-party advertising partners may collect and use your personal information for marketing and advertising purposes:

  • Direct marketing. We may send you direct marketing communications and may personalize these messages based on your needs and interests. You may opt-out of our marketing communications as described in the Opt-out of communications section.
  • Interest-based advertising. We and our third-party advertising partners may use cookies, pixels and other technologies to collect information about your interaction (including the data described in the Automatic Data Collection section above) with the Service, our communications and other third party online services over time, and use that information to serve online ads that they think will interest you. This is called interest-based advertising. We may also share information about our users with these companies to facilitate interest-based advertising to those or similar users on other online properties.   • Events, promotions and contests. We may use your personal information to administer promotions and contests, communicate with you about events in which you participate, or contact or market to you after collecting your personal information at an event.

Compliance and protection. We may use your personal information to:

  • comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas, court orders, investigations or requests from government authorities;
  • protect our, your or others' rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims);
  • audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements or our internal policies;
  • enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Service; and
  • prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft.

With your consent. In some cases, we may specifically ask for your consent to collect, use, or share your personal information for further purposes, if those purposes are not compatible with the initial purpose for which that personal information was collected. Your consent may be established by your intentional interaction with third-party links or tools made available in our Services, where it is clear that you are choosing to interact, and in turn share personal information with, those third parties.

Cookies and similar technologies. In addition to the other uses included in this section, we may use the cookies and similar technologies described above for the following purposes:

  • Technical operation. To allow the technical operation of the Service, such as remembering selections as you navigate the site and remembering whether you are logged in.
  • Functionality. To enhance the performance and functionality of our services.
  • Analytics. To help us understand user activity on the Service, including the volume and demographics of users, which pages are most and least visited and how users move around the Service or interact with our emails. We use third-party analytics services including Google Analytics, Amplitude, HubSpot, and others for this purpose. Data sharing in the context of corporate transactions. We may share certain personal information in the context of actual or prospective corporate transactions.

Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We may share your information with the following parties and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, in other applicable notice, or at the time of collection.

Affiliates. In some cases, our corporate parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates might have access to personal information.

Service providers. Third-party service providers who help us deliver functionality, such as cloud storage, analytics platforms, communication tools, legal support, payment processing, and customer relationship management systems.

Payment processors. Any payment card information you use to make a purchase on the Service is collected and processed directly by our payment processors, such as Stripe. Stripe may use your payment data in accordance with its privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/legal/ssa.

Artificial intelligence platforms. We use third-party AI providers to power certain aspects of the Services, such as Anthropic and OpenAI. To learn more about how those providers process your information, please refer to their privacy policies.

Advertising partners / ad networks. Third-party advertising companies for the interest-based advertising purposes described above.

Social networks. We use their ad services to display ads to our customers, or other people like them, on social media.

Third parties designated by you. We may also share your information with third parties, such as real estate professionals, mortgage lenders, attorneys, or contractors, in order to connect you with services relevant to your home sale. Ridley may receive compensation in connection with these referrals.

Sponsor Partners. Third parties with whom we partner, including parties with whom we co-sponsor events or promotions, with whom we jointly offer products or services, or whose products or services may be of interest to you.

Professional advisors. Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, bankers and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.

Authorities and others. We may disclose information with law enforcement, government authorities, and private parties in litigation, as we believe in good faith to be necessary or appropriate for the compliance and protection purposes described above, such as to respond to valid legal requests (such as subpoenas or court orders), or to protect the safety, property, or legal rights of Ridley Technologies, Inc., our users, or others.

Corporate transactions. We may disclose personal information in the context of actual or prospective business transactions (e.g., in the event of a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or corporate restructuring, investments in Ridley, financing of Ridley, public stock offerings). For example, we may need to share certain personal information with prospective counterparties and their advisers. We may disclose your personal information to an acquirer, successor, or assignee of Ridley or a portion of our business assets as part of any merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, and/or in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which personal information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets.

Other users and the public. Your profile data and some user-generated content may be visible to other users of the Service and the public. For example, other users of the Service may have access to your information if you choose to make your profile or other personal information available to them through the Service, including in relation to experiences made available through the Service, when you communicate through the Service, provide comments, reviews, photos, videos, survey responses, or share other content. This information can be seen, collected and used by others, including being cached, copied, screen captured or stored elsewhere by others (e.g., search engines), and we are not responsible for any such use of this information. Once you publish content, it may be copied and stored on third party systems where you might not have the ability to have it deleted.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, local storage technologies, pixels, and other similar technologies to conduct the automatic collection described above. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, but doing so may impact functionality.

Specific tracking technologies we use. The following third-party services may set cookies or collect data when you use our Services:

  • Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager — web analytics and tag management for understanding site usage and traffic sources. Learn more: Google Privacy Policy. Opt out: Google Analytics Opt-Out.
  • Amplitude — product analytics to understand how users interact with our Services, including page views, clicks, and navigation patterns. Amplitude may also record session replays (visual recordings of user interactions such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling) to help us improve the user experience.   • Meta Pixel (Facebook) — advertising and conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our ads and deliver relevant advertising. Learn more: Meta Privacy Policy.
  • HubSpot — customer relationship management and marketing analytics to track engagement with our content and communications. Learn more: HubSpot Privacy Policy.
  • TVSquared — advertising attribution to measure the performance of our television and video advertising campaigns. Learn more: TVSquared Privacy Policy.
  • Stellar — experimentation and A/B testing to help us optimize our Services and user experience.

First-party cookies and storage. We also use the following first-party technologies:

  • UTM tracking cookie (ridley_utm) — stores marketing attribution parameters (such as the source, medium, and campaign that brought you to our site) to help us understand how users discover our Services.
  • Session identifiers — unique session and flow identifiers stored in your browser's local or session storage to maintain continuity as you navigate between pages.
  • Authentication cookies — session cookies used to keep you signed in after authentication.

Your Rights and Choices

In this section, we describe the choices available to you.

Access or update your information. If you have registered for an account with us through the Service, you may review and update certain account information by logging into the account and navigating to your account profile and settings.

Opt-out of communications. You may opt-out of marketing-related emails by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email, or by contacting us. It may take time for your opt-out to be effective. Please note that if you choose to opt-out of marketing-related emails, you may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails.

Mobile location data. You can disable our access to your device's precise geolocation in your mobile device settings.

Cookies. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies. To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept cookies by default until you change your settings. Please note that if you set your browser to disable cookies, the Service may not work properly. For more information about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set on your browser and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

Blocking images/clear gifs. Most browsers and devices allow you to configure your device to prevent images from loading, so the business hosting the image will not detect that you have viewed a page. To do this, follow the instructions in your particular browser or device settings.

Do Not Track. Some Internet browsers may be configured to send “Do Not Track” signals to the online services that you visit. We currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” please visit www.allaboutdnt.com.

Advertising choices. You may be able to limit use of your information for interest-based advertising through the following settings/options/tools:

  • Browser settings. Changing your internet web browser settings to block third-party cookies.
  • Privacy browsers/plug-ins. Using privacy browsers and/or ad-blocking browser plug-ins that let you block tracking technologies.
  • Platform settings. Some platforms offer opt-out features that let you opt-out of use of your information for interest-based advertising. You may be able to exercise that option at the following:
  • Ad industry tools. Opting out of interest-based ads from companies that participate in the following industry opt-out programs:
  • Mobile settings. Using your mobile device settings to limit use of the advertising ID associated with your mobile device for interest-based advertising purposes.

You will need to apply these advertising-related opt-out settings on each device and browser from which you wish to limit the use of your information for interest-based advertising purposes. We cannot offer any assurances as to whether the companies we work with participate in the opt-out programs described above.

Training data. As set out in the Sharing and Disclosure of Information section, we may use your personal information, provided it is aggregated, de-identified and/or anonymized, to train our AI models and for other machine learning purposes. This helps improve the Service.

Declining to provide information. We need to collect personal information to provide certain services. If you do not provide the information we identify as required or mandatory, we may not be able to provide those services.

Shine the Light law opt out. Under California's Shine the Light law (California Civil Code Section 1798.83), we give you the right to opt-out of our disclosure of your personal information (as defined by this law) to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. You may send us requests to hi@getridley.com. In your request, you must include the statement “Shine the Light Request,” and provide your first and last name and mailing address and certify that you are a California resident. We reserve the right to require additional information to confirm your identity and California residency.

Your US State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Tennessee, Indiana, or another US state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, as described below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Categories of personal information we collect. In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email address, and phone number); commercial information (such as property details and transaction history); internet or electronic network activity information (such as browsing history, search history, and interactions with our Services); geolocation data (such as property addresses and approximate location derived from IP address); professional or employment-related information (for agent users); and inferences drawn from the above.

How we use and disclose this information. We use this information for the business and commercial purposes described in the How We Use Your Information section of this Privacy Policy. We disclose this information to the categories of third parties described in the Sharing and Disclosure of Information section.

Sale and sharing of personal information. Under certain state privacy laws, disclosing personal information to third-party advertising partners for targeted advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We may share identifiers and internet activity data with advertising partners (such as Meta and Google) for targeted advertising purposes. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Your rights. Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Right to know / access. You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which it was collected, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom it was shared or sold.
  • Right to delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to opt-out of sale or sharing. You may opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes. To exercise this right, click the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer of our website or email us at hi@getridley.com.
  • Right to opt-out of targeted advertising. You may opt-out of the processing of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes.
  • Right to data portability. You may request a copy of your personal information in a portable and readily usable format.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. If we process sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the Services, you may request that we limit our use.

How to exercise your rights. To submit a request, please email hi@getridley.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request by asking you to provide information that matches our records. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf by providing written authorization. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days (or as otherwise required by applicable law), and we will inform you if we need an extension.

Global Privacy Control. We recognize the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signal as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing request. If your browser or device sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information associated with that browser or device. Right to appeal. If we deny your privacy request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us at hi@getridley.com with the subject line “Privacy Rights Appeal.” If you are not satisfied with our response to your appeal, you may contact your state's attorney general.

Data Retention

We generally retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, including Sensitive Personal Information, we may consider factors such as the length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide services to you; the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information; the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information; the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means; whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, certain laws require us to keep records of your transactions for a certain period of time before we can delete them); whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position, such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations; and applicable legal requirements. For example, we will retain your personal information for as long as you have an account with us or keep using our services, and the length of time thereafter during which we may have a legitimate need to reference your personal information to address issues that may arise. When we no longer require the personal information we have about you, we may delete, anonymize, de-identify, or aggregate it.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect.

However, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of your information, and you use the Services at your own risk.

Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for or directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child without verified parental consent, we will comply with applicable legal requirements to delete it. If you are a parent or guardian of a minor from whom you believe we have collected personal information in a manner prohibited by law, or if information was provided on your behalf when you were under 18, please contact us.

Third-Party Services and Links

Our Services may contain links to websites, mobile applications, platforms, tools, or other online services operated by third parties. In addition, our content may be integrated into web pages or other online services that are not associated with us. These links and integrations are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. We do not control such third-party services and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party services and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

International Data Transfers

We are headquartered in the United States and may use service providers that operate in other countries. If you are accessing the Services from outside the United States, your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and other jurisdictions where privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your state, province, or country.

Updates to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you by updating the Effective Date. Depending on the kind of change we make, we may also notify you directly or ask for your consent to the change. Any modifications to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon our posting the modified version or as otherwise indicated at the time of posting.
